At UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at Villa Maria, our medical staff follows patients and works closely with a team of multidisciplinary specialists from neurosurgery, medical oncology, surgical oncology, medical physics, pathology, diagnostic radiology, nursing, nutrition, and psychology. The team shares daily experiences and clinical cases with colleagues of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center network in Europe and in the United States.
Prof. PierCarlo Gentile
Prof. Gentile is the scientific coordinator of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Villa Maria. He is the medical director of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at San Pietro FBF, and chief of the Radiotherapy Unit of San Pietro Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Rome. He is also member of the Italian Association of Radiation Oncology (AIRO) and of the European SocieTy for Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO). Associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh, Prof. Gentile is member of a multidisciplinary team tasked with processing criteria and guidelines to establish a network of specialists in oncology diseases in the Region of Lazio.
Dr. Ivana Russo
Dr. Ivana Russo is the Medical Director of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Villa Maria. She obtained her specialization in radiation oncology at Sapienza University in Rome (A.O. Sant'Andrea), focusing on brain neoplasias. She perfected her higher education at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Gessica Abate, obtained her specialization in radiation oncology at Sapienza University in Rome, focusing on head-neck and gastrointestinal neoplasias at Umberto I Hospital.
